Introduction

The project focuses on revitalizing the existing Tomaquag Museum exhibition during its relocation process. In collaboration with director Silvermoon LaRose and Brown University curators, the renewal aims to tell the stories of the Narragansett people through diverse and layered narratives.

The design had to work within several constraints:
  • preserving the original cabinets and artifacts,
  • integrating storage within the limited space,
  • and creating new interpretive experiences without altering the museum’s structure.

The project explores how spatial storytelling can give voice to Indigenous perspectives even under practical limitations — transforming constraint into a creative framework for renewal.
